Beyond Us Local

Our communities and nation need real answers to the many needs and injustices that exist in our world. We can make a difference both as individuals and collectively as a Church. We have Life Groups reaching out to support community groups who are helping the vulnerable. We have people involved in refugee support, immigrant orientation, budgeting services and much more.

We also financially support a number of initiatives from within Salt that make a difference in our community. We welcome you to partner with us in them.

Chaplaincy

At Salt we have a number of qualified Chaplains that work within the community and workplaces. Our Chaplains are a valuable resource that offers meaningful guidance, care and advocacy for people who find themselves in need or facing difficult situations. Whether it is someone to talk to, advocacy in accessing wider services, or someone to pray with, our are team are there.

Backpack Outreach, Ipu Mo Te Hauora

This initiative shows care in a practical way. A backpack of essentials is provided for children who have had to leave home unexpectedly. This could be due to being a victim or witness to domestic violence, neglect and/or poverty. Backpacks are distributed through existing community organisations, providing a few essentials that can help see them through a difficult time, including: colouring Activity, Book to Read, Lunchbox and Drink Bottle, Toothpaste & Toothbrush, Soft Toy or Ball (some items may be substituted based on age or product availability).

You can support this initiative by giving to Beyond Us through Salt. Head to the Facebook page: Backpack Outreach, Ipu o te Hauora.
